Ava

It's been a while since I have updated anything. Anyway Ava is doing well. After our many visits to Primary Childrens Medical Center and seeing a long list of different specialists, we have been reassurred that our little angel is doing well. For those of you who don't know our Ava was born with an underdeveloped zygomatic arch and a possible condition called hemifacial microsomia which affects 1 in 5600 newborns. However her case is mild, but has affected the right side of her face. Many children with that condition are born with a malformed ear or none at all and it can affect hearing. It also affects the mandible and make it difficult to eat. It can also affect the eye orbit amoung many more problems. However, Ava is one of the lucky ones. After we saw the results of her CT it appears that the only problem so far is with her cheekbone. It appears she will have surgery in the future and many more visits with her fantastic team of doctors. Despite that she is doing well and we are grateful. She is such a joy and light in our lives and I wouldn't change any of it. She is absolutely perfect.

my dear friend (i hope you still consider me your friend), not a day goes by that i haven't thought of you, and had the impression to call you; and now, after reading this, i understand why you're been on my mind so much. i'm so sorry that i've let my busy life and schedule get in they way of doing what is most important...being there for my sweet friend. i need to call you.
i love you...and i love that sweet baby girl of yours.
